Matthew 6:33 states, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." These were words that Jesus spoke to his disciples to comfort them when they wondered, "What shall we eat?" and "What shall we drink?" As you ponder and consider what you might give to "First Fruits-Strong Roots," know that the Lord will meet your needs if you truly seek the kingdom of God and put your full trust in him.

A New Adult Inquirer’s Class begins Sunday, February 5th at 10:30 a.m .meeting in the Chapel of St. Mary.
Evensong will be sung Sunday, February 5th at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Mary. A reception hosted by E.C.W. will follow in the Parish Hall. Plan to attend and invite a friend.

Read the Bible in 90 Days. Meetings continue on Monday nights at 7pm in the South Lounge. Those following the schedule corporately should be on Day 21 of the reading (1 Samuel 16:1-1 Samuel 28:19). Please see or e-mail the curate if you would like to begin the schedule. It always a good time to begin reading the Bible. jlock@allsoulsokc.com

It is that time again! Children’s Sunday school will be putting together “Bags of Love” for the clergy to distribute to our homebound parishioners on or near Valentine’s Day. We would greatly appreciate your contribution of any of the following items: travel-size lotion, soap, Kleenex, candy, mints, tea bags, snacks, cookies, post-it notes, pens, pencils, word puzzle books, or anything you think someone who is homebound would like (be creative!!). Please leave your new or unused items in the box located near the undercroft reception desk by Sunday, February 5th. Thank you!

We need your help!
Children’s Sunday school is in need of clean, one-gallon size plastic milk-type “jugs” (some teas and juice beverages also come in these containers). Please leave your cartons on either reception desk (upstairs or down). Additionally, we are in need of a few children’s plastic golf club sets. If you have questions, please contact Alicia Fay (alfay@allsoulsokc.com or 842-1461 x 120). Thank you so much!

What place does Joseph have in Episcopal tradition? Why do we hear so much more about Mary than Joseph? Historically, Joseph was called the foster father of our Lord, even though the Bible calls Jesus the son of Joseph (for example, John 1:45). He is called father, of course, not because of his biological role in the genesis of the man Jesus, but because of his role in raising the child. Joseph is one of these figures that is often neglected, but the more thought one gives to him, an awareness grows of what a profound role he must have played in the life of our Lord. Joseph is personally important to me because I see in him a model for pastors, humbly and courageously protecting Mary and the child Jesus. Submit questions to the Curate - jlock@allsoulsokc.com
