Rev. Andy Johnson Joins All Souls’ as Associate Rector
Dear Parishioners and Friends of All Souls’ Church,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am pleased to announce that the Rev. Andy Johnson has agreed to accept the position of Associate Rector at All Souls’. Many of you will remember Father Johnson and his family from his visit on January 12, when he was the guest preacher.
Father Johnson is currently the Curate at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas, a parish which shares much in common with All Souls’. I first met Father Johnson during my time at the Church of the Incarnation, Dallas, where he was a very active layperson and where he discerned a call to Holy Orders. Before Father Johnson was ordained, we served together in various capacities at Incarnation, and I am well pleased to have him join me (and the other clergy) in priestly ministry at All Souls’.
Father Johnson was raised in Indiana before attending high school and college in Georgia. He completed his bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech in 1999 and spent his early career at Chick-fil-A’s corporate office. In 2008, he moved to Dallas, where he finished a Master of Theology degree at Dallas Theological Seminary in 2013. Father Johnson began to discern a call to ordained ministry in 2013 and was ordained to the diaconate and priesthood in 2016. He and his wife Kristyn have one son, David. He enjoys preaching, teaching, playing games or an occasional round of golf, and spending time with his family.
The Johnsons plan to move to Oklahoma City at the beginning of March, and Father Johnson will begin his priestly duties shortly thereafter.
Please remember the Johnsons in your prayers as they prepare to transition to Oklahoma. Pray also for the people of St. John’s as they say farewell to a priest and family they love.
In Christ Jesus,
Fr. Christopher Yoder
